Well October is here and the weather has begun to cool. The animals are running around more frequently and seem to be having a ball. Birds are singing, chipmunks are chipping and worms are coming to the surface. I don't know what the worms think they are doing, but that could be dangerous for them. They aren't exactly swift on their bellies.
There are some very good football games on today. Georgia vs. LSU and Ga. Tect vs. Miami. Poor Ga. Tech.
I just had to say a little something this morning to get started. Have a nice day.

Coudn't Find the Garden
Well, we had quite a hard rain that lasted maybe 4-5 hours. The garden sits on a 2000 square foot plateau that protrudes out over a 40 foot wide stream. It was a nice garden... Onions, peppers, grapes, squash, melons, cucumbers, beans... the regular stuff. Well there was so much rain that the small dam downstream couldn't process the water fast enough, causing it to back up over the little garden plateau. Once it receeded, I could see that the garden decided to go too. I found a stick, but I know there was a garden there before the rain. Maybe it will settle downstream on someone elses property and provide them with all of those wonderful veggies. I think I'll put my next garden on a little higher ground next time. Then we may just have one of those 100 year floods.
Later, I'm going for a walk and see if I can locate that garden, it must be around somewhere.

Barking Dogs
A few years back, I lived in a subdivision where all of the homes were side by side and everyone owned a dog. Late at night when I couldn't sleep, I would slip outside about 1 AM and it would be very, very quiet. I would make a barking sound and immediately the dog next door would begin to bark. This set off the next dog and then the next. I could go to my front yard and listen as every dog in the neighborhood began their bark. As quickly as it made the round of the neighborhood, it would all come to a stop.
If you live in one of these type neighborhoods. Go out and try it and see if it works where you live. There are no complaints because everyone in the neighborhood had a dog that participated.
Lots of Barking Fun to all...

Why do newscasters thank each other so much?
Watching the news is becoming increasingly difficult. Newscasters spend as much time stating their names and thanking each other for performing a job they are being paid to do. Are there any other jobs where people introduce themselves and their associates, then have a short conversation before performing their job. A waiter/waitress sometimes introduce themselves but they don't turn to others and introduce them and then participate in a peronal conversation while you wait to place an order.
In places, such as zoos, where you may want to ask a question, a narrator may from time to time introduce their associates so you would be more inclined to introduce a question, but why newscasters. We certainly aren't expected to call them on the phone and ask them how their doing. They talk about their birthdays or where they are located like the veiwing public care. What we turned to them for is the news.
Which brings up another question. It sometimes takes them longer to tell you what they are going to talk about than the actual subject matter. It seems pretty obvious that they just don't have enough news to fill the time slot.
As long as the various news outlets compete for the best looking men or women, it will at least be pleasant to watch. They need to replace the men as quickly as they replace the women because some of those guys are getting old and as they age they start to sound and look like each other.
Any ideas
